The Deadening, Mock Horror Bonanza
The Deadening is a mock horror production which plays on old school horror tropes with an over the top approach that creates a humorous disconnect between the subject matter and interpretation.
Using de-synched sound and a retro aesthetic, The Deadening goofs on classic horror while paying homage to it all in one breath.
The deadening began as an exercise in staging a horror scene.
As the project evolved, the monster and the setting changed but the heart remained the same.
Designing the Survivor
The survivor is a typical protagonist in an old school horror flick.
This survivor was inspired by classic horror performances like Sigourney Weaver's in Alien.
